Persistent Systems hosts second annual Technical Exchange Meeting

Company brings together over 300 Wave Relay® MANET users to discuss the future of military and first responder communications

Persistent Systems, LLC (“Persistent”), a leader in mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) technology, hosted its second annual Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM) for Wave Relay® Ecosystem partners and end-users at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City, from March 11-12.

A key focus of this year’s event was the importance of resilient communications in the Indo-Pacific region, with Col. Jason P. Quinter of the United States Marine Corps leading a session on Networking in the INDOPACOM Region to Gain an Operational Advantage.

“The Indo-Pacific is one of the most complex and strategically vital regions in the world, and resilient, decentralized communications are essential for mission success,” said Col Quinter. “Technology that provides warfighters with real-time situation awareness is critical to ensuring that forces across land, sea, and air can operate as a unified network.”

This emphasis on multi-domain interoperability via multiple transport layers—satellite, cellular, RF, and the internet—provided by the Wave Relay® MANET ties directly into the theme of this year’s TEM, “Building a Global Communications Fabric.”

By bringing together over 300 Wave Relay® MANET users from over 20 countries, the event fostered discussions on operational success and innovative ways to enhance secure, reliable communications in dynamic environments.

Other discussions at the TEM included:

Establishing data-fused law enforcement with Rolf Capper and James Gregory from Florida’s Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
A demonstration from Persistent’s Tony Valenzuela, showcasing the new Personal Transport 5 (PT5), which provides Wi-Fi and cellular capabilities to the MPU5.
A look inside Persistent’s Wave Relay Security Architecture, presented by Founder and Chief Technology Officer Dr. David Holmer and Principal Product Security Engineer James Harrison.

Additionally, members of the Wave Relay® Ecosystem—Persistent’s industry alliance of unmanned system and sensor producers—demonstrated how their UGVs, UAVs, sensors, and cameras integrate with the Wave Relay® MANET, enabling seamless data-sharing across a unified network.
